Reporting to the Underground Superintendent, the Underground Foreman is responsible for leading a crew on underground utility projects, with a strong focus on deep installations such as storm, water, and sanitary systems. This role involves coordinating day-to-day site activities, ensuring crew productivity, safety, and quality, while supporting the successful execution of project goals and timelines.

How You’ll Add Value
  • Actively contribute to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work environment
  • Supervise and guide crew members in the installation of deep utilities (storm, water, and sanitary), ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications
  • Organize daily work tasks, equipment, and materials to ensure efficient site operations and meet project deadlines
  • Communicate clearly with Superintendents, Project Managers, subcontractors, and inspectors to coordinate activities and resolve issues
  • Monitor work progress and report on project status, crew performance, and any challenges that arise
  • Maintain accurate and timely field documentation, including daily logs, timecards, and safety reports
  • Support on-site problem solving and implement corrective actions to keep work on track and within scope
  • Provide hands-on training, mentorship, and feedback to crew members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following:
Qualifications & Experience
  • 5+ years of underground construction experience, with 2+ years in a foreman or supervisory role
  • Strong understanding of deep utility materials, systems, and installation procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans
  • Effective leadership, communication, and crew coordination skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and app-based safety and production tools
  • Flexibility to work long hours, shifts, on-call, or night work in various weather conditions as required, with readiness to travel to remote areas
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions

Note: Pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing will be required.
