ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTUREThis role reports to Dr. Fabricio Telo.
SUMMARYThe research assistant will work on the project "Internationalization of Canadian Businesses: The Case of Brazilian Traction Light and Power Corporation," funded by KPU's Chancellor's Chair Award Program. The work will be done mainly remotely, with eventual in-person meetings on the Surrey campus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Transcribe interviews;
- Do library, archive, and online research;
- Summarize historical documents;
- Assist with data management;
- Prepare summary reports and craft Power Point presentations.
QUALIFICATIONS- Currently enrolled in at least one course in Sociology, History, Political Science or another relevant program at KPU;
- Successful completion of the online tutorial CORE-2022 (Course on Research Ethics) of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS 2)
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new skills and follow protocols.
- Demonstrated oral and written English language skills.
- Detail oriented, with good organizational and time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work alone or in groups
- Ability to use or learn software applications appropriate to the project (i.e. word processing, data base, spreadsheets, statistical, presentation, and graphics,).
- Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of cultural environments; and readiness to adopt a productive working culture (timekeeping, time management, collegiality, mutual respect, etc.).
