Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking an ultrasound technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures in alignment with departmental standards to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

The role requires CM RITO registration, CRGS certification or eligibility, and experience across abdominal, obstetric/gynecologic, paediatric, breast, vascular and MS ultrasound. Strong communication, teamwork and the ability to work across Osler sites are essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required.
  • Sonography Canada (CRGS) abdomen/OB-GYN with preference for RVT (CRVS) or eligibility within six months of hire.
  • ARDMS certification may be considered.
  • Experience in abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, paediatric, breast, vascular and musculoskeletal ultrasound preferred.
  • FMF NT certification an asset.
  • Proven skill in producing high-quality ultrasound images.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Physical ability to perform duties.
  • Ability to organize work, set objectives and priorities.
  • Ability to mentor and consult with clinical educators; strong interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent attendance and punctuality; may travel between Osler sites.

Job description

Accountabilities
  • Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient's diagnosis and/or treatment
  • Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Adhere to hospital mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
  • Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the Radiologist when necessary
  • Perform other duties related to the job classification as required
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required
  • Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with Sonography Canada within six months of the date of hire
  • Candidates with ARDMS certification may be considered
  • Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, paediatric, breast, vascular and musculoskeletal preferred
  • FMF NT certification an asset
  • Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
  • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Physical ability to perform the expected job duties
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with the clinical educators
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
  • May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Hours: Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

Salary:

  • Minimum: $36.84 per hour
  • Maximum: $51.76 per hour
