Job summary

William Osler Health System is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist for multiple sites. You will perform ultrasound exams, ensure high-quality imaging, and discuss findings with radiologists while maintaining patient care and confidentiality.

The role requires accreditation, CMRITO registration, and relevant certifications. Duties include traveling between Osler sites and contributing to education and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited ultrasound program.
• CMRITO registration is required.
• Sonography Canada abdomen/OB-GYN certification preferred; RVT/CRVS eligibility if possible.
• ARDMS certification may be considered for eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Perform ultrasound procedures per departmental standards.
• Provide high-quality imaging and preliminary impressions to radiologists.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies.
• Travel between Osler sites as required.
• Support teaching and learning for clinical educators and staff.

Accountabilities:

• Perform ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in patient’s diagnosis and/or treatment
• Facilitate the provision of optimal patient care, observing and understanding Hospital and departmental policies and procedures
• Adhere to organization mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality
• Provide radiologists with high quality imaging, accurate and complete preliminary technical impression, discussing ultrasound findings with the radiologist when necessary
• Perform other duties related to the job classification as required

Job qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in ultrasound technology
• Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required
• Sonography Canada (CRGS) certification in abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology with preference given to those who are also RVT (CRVS) or eligibility for registration with Sonography Canada within six months of the date of hire
• Candidates with ARDMS certification may be considered
• Experience in general abdominal, obstetrics/gynecology, paediatric, breast, vascular and musculoskeletal preferred
• FMF NT certification an asset
• Proven skill in the production of high-quality ultrasound images
• Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
• Physical ability to perform the expected job duties
• Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities
• Demonstrated ability to foster an environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning relationships and provide effective consultation with the clinical educators
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong interpersonal and communication skills

• Excellent attendance, punctuality and work record
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites

Additional information

Hours:Currently Days/Evenings/Nights, including weekends and statutory holidays (subject to change in accordance with operational requirements)

SALARY:

• Minimum: $38.80 per hour
• Maximum: $54.52 per hour
