Job summary

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) seeks a Medical Diagnostic Sonographer to join the Radiology-Ultra Sound team at Vancouver General Hospital in Vancouver, BC. You will perform abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, vascular and small parts ultrasound exams, ensuring patient safety and data accuracy within the diagnostic imaging system.

You will coordinate requisitions, prepare patients and leverage ultrasound and Doppler techniques, with opportunities to participate on committees and research projects.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized medical diagnostic sonography program and certified with Sonography Canada or ARDMS, or Sonography Canada with the CCSA.
• Two years of recent pediatric experience for BC Children’s Hospital postings.

Responsibilities

• Perform abdominal, obstetrical, pelvic, peripheral vascular and small parts ultrasound examinations.
• Receive and complete requisitions and document findings in the diagnostic imaging information system.
• Prepare patients for procedures and ensure patient safety throughout exams.
• Conduct examinations using ultrasound and Doppler techniques.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in approved research projects and committees as assigned.
