At Guardian Fire Consulting & Engineering Group, we’re proud to be at the forefront of life safety and code compliance. As a ULC-listed Service Provider, we specialize in fire protection engineering, inspection, and integrated systems testing in NB, NS, ON, AND BC.

We are hiring Integrated Testing Coordinators (ITCs) to support our growing ULC-S1001 Integrated Systems Testing services across Ontario. We currently have openings based in :

  • Windsor area, serving Southwestern Ontario
  • Sudbury area, serving Northern Ontario
  • Locations suited to serving Midwestern Ontario

As Ontario prepares for new Fire Code compliance requirements effective January 1, 2026, we are expanding our testing team. These roles may begin on a part-time project basis, with the potential to transition into full-time depending on project demand and mutual fit.

About the Role

As a ULC S1001 Integrated Testing Coordinator, you’ll lead and document the end-to-end testing of interconnected fire protection and life safety systems. You'll act as an independent third party, ensuring all components function together as designed per CAN / ULC-S1001 standards.

This role requires strong communication and coordination skills, as you’ll collaborate with building owners, contractors, designers, and AHJs to plan and execute integrated systems testing (IST) on both new and existing construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan and coordinate integrated system testing (IST) projects under CAN / ULC-S1001
  2. Develop test plans and final reports in collaboration with project stakeholders
  3. Facilitate on-site walkthroughs and test execution with multiple trades and system vendors
  4. Identify system deficiencies and provide detailed reporting and documentation
  5. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications
  6. Serve as the lead point of contact for clients during the IST process

Required Qualifications

  1. Degree or diploma in Fire Protection Engineering, Building Systems, or related discipline
  2. 3+ years in fire protection, building systems, or life safety coordination
  3. Working knowledge of CAN / ULC-S1001 and Ontario Fire Code requirements
  4. Strong project coordination, communication, and reporting skills
  5. Technical background in fire alarm, suppression, HVAC, or electrical systems is an asset
  6. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  7. Willingness to travel within the region assigned
