Job Details

Job Title: Level II Sonographer

Status: Part-Time or Full-Time

Type: On site

Reports To: Clinic Manager

Purpose

The UIMG Level II Sonographer is credentialed, experienced, and functions as a compassionate intermediate level sonographer, taking on the interactive role as a healthcare provider of diagnostic and screening ultrasound exams. This role operates under the delegated authority of a Level III sonographer or clinical manager. Demonstrating competencies in one or more specialties for performing diagnostic ultrasound protocol exams, the Level II Sonographer is expected to utilize sound judgement in problem solving and reasoning while independently conducting diagnostic exams. Additionally, Level II Sonographer collaborates with the clinic manager and/or lead sonographer in training new hires or externship students.

Description

The main responsibilities include:

  • Performing diagnostic ultrasound exams following established protocols.
  • Collaborating with team members and training new staff or externs.
  • Ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures.
  • Maintaining equipment and documentation standards.
Qualifications
  • Graduated from an accredited ultrasound program.
  • Over 2 years of scanning experience in clinical settings.
  • Registered or registry eligible through ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI.
  • Strong communication, technical, and clinical skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work flexibly under pressure.
Responsibilities within 90 Days
  • Obtain credentialing and demonstrate competence in specialty exams.
  • Integrate into clinical workflow and perform examinations independently.
  • Ensure proficiency in physics, instrumentation, and patient care protocols.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain a collaborative team environment.
  • Prepare and sterilize equipment, assist with training, and ensure quality control.
  • Follow all regulatory, safety, and privacy regulations.
  • Document findings accurately and communicate effectively with physicians.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.
  • Lift objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Operate ultrasound equipment and perform repetitive motions.
  • Communicate effectively in person and via phone/computer.
