Job description

Our client, a Top 5 Bank in Canada, is looking to hire a UI/UX Designer for an initial 6-month contract with the possibility to extend or convert to a permanent position. This role is currently hybrid in Toronto.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Play a pivotal role in enhancing the Bank's Direct Investing app, iTrade, for both iOS and Android platforms.
2. Collaborate with a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers, content producers, and researchers to craft best-in-class digital experiences.
3. Translate customer feedback, stakeholder insights, and analytics into actionable design improvements.
4. Engage in design thinking to tackle complex challenges, seeking simple, elegant solutions.
5. Utilize expertise in Material Design 3 and Apple's Human Interface Guidelines to create intuitive, user-centric designs.
6. Apply deep understanding of typography, grid systems, visual hierarchy, and color theory to produce aesthetically pleasing and functional designs.

Must Have Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a product designer.
• 3-5 years of recent professional experience with iOS and Android mobile app product design, having worked on at least one native mobile product.
• Formal design education required.
• Strong demonstrated experience with visual design/UI.
• Experience working in a large product team with researchers, product managers, engineers, and designers.

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with Figma.
• Financial institution/banking experience.
• Animation experience.
