Purpose:

The York University School of Medicine is in a foundational start-up phase, working toward the successful launch of its Undergraduate Medical Education (MD) Program. Central to this mission is achieving and maintaining accreditation through the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS). The UGME Program and Accreditation Coordinator bridges the critical requirements of accreditation compliance with the operational development of the medical curriculum.The UGME Program and Accreditation Coordinator provides end-to-end administrative and program coordination for the development, implementation, and accreditation of the MD Program. The role supports curriculum development leaders (e.g. course chairs, theme leads, subject matter experts) in the design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of MD Program learning experiences and assessments, as well as the preparation and coordination of accreditation materials. Under the administrative direction of the Accreditation Project Implementation Manager (UGME), the role ensures all programmatic and curricular outputs meet CACMS standards, quality assurance benchmarks, and institutional requirements. This role supports day-to-day program coordination, faculty liaison, and the operational roll-out of curriculum infrastructure and foundational medical school start-up initiatives. The UGME Program and Accreditation Coordinator demonstrates commitment to promoting decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education and fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and lifelong learning.

Education:

University degree in a relevant field is required or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.

Experience:

Three (3) years related work experience in program management or program coordination and partnership development/management required.

Additional knowledge required:

• Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills, including demonstrated knowledge of functions/formulae, creating queries and reports, filtering, sorting, and linking (mail merge), developing tracking tools and reports, managing large datasets, and producing structured documentation and templates.
• Knowledge of healthcare sector and medical education accreditation processes, especially CACMS standards.
• Cross cultural competence and awareness of the principles and practices of decolonization, equity, diversity and inclusion, particularly as they apply to academic, professional, and healthcare learning environments.
• Knowledge and familiarity with project management software.
