Organizational Description: U-Turn Parkinson's seeks to empower those living with Parkinson's in their pursuit of wellness. We are committed to supporting them through a holistic approach, and see wellness as an active process through which people become aware of, and make choices toward a more successful existence.
We aim to inspire, inform and provide the tools needed to improve one's quality of life. We do this by offering various classes that include strength and conditioning, Power Stretch, Tai Chi, Dancing With Parkinson's, Boxing, support groups, educational sessions and special events. We are always looking for new ways to continually fight back against this disease.
U-Turn Parkinson's is a Canadian charity (Registration #775822927) committed to helping individuals live their best in spite of Parkinson's. We rely solely on the donations from individuals, foundations and corporations to fund our mission.

Description of Duties:
Program volunteers (U-Crew) are integral to our Parkinson's-specific classes running smoothly! Volunteers bring an encouraging and positive atmosphere to class, helping participants live their best with the disease.
In our boxing class, U-Crew help to demonstrate seated boxing options, work one-on-one with participants using hand pads, and assist with correcting boxing technique (under the direction of our boxing instructor). Volunteering with U-Turn Parkinson's offers many ways to be active while making a difference.
The role of volunteer will also include setting up chairs and equipment, wiping down and putting away equipment and connecting with participants. Volunteers will be given opportunities to participate in any special events that are organized throughout the year.
