As a teacher for ClassUp, you will have a flexible and consistent schedule that you set. We teach math, ELA, and SAT classes and have ClassUp provided learning plans for our teachers to use.

This is the perfect opportunity for experienced educators to connect with students in an after school setting. You will meet with your students at a set time each week for 50 minute 1 on 1 lessons. As a ClassUp teacher, you will build a welcoming and fun learning environment for your students as you help them grow. It is important for our teachers to be reliable role models for our students who come to class well prepared, on time, and with a passionate and kind demeanor.

Every student has different learning requirements and capabilities. It’s crucial for the tutor to be adaptive so that the session could be tailored to the student’s needs and abilities.

Considerate

Challenging questions sometimes will discourage students. It would be greatly beneficial to help them build their confidence.

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in education

3 years of experience teaching grades K-12 and expert knowledge of K-12 ELA and math standards

Availability between 3-10 PM EST on Monday through Friday or during the weekends

15 hours of availability on a weekly basis

Able to commit to a year of teaching with ClassUp

Teach on Windows or Mac PC (Minimum CPU of 6000; Chromebook not supported)

Access to stable internet connection, private and quiet teaching location

Expert knowledge of online teaching strategies and tools

Passion for helping students learn

Located in the United States (we are not able to hire teachers residing in California)

Teaching license preferred but not required

What you'll be doing as a teacher at ClassUp:

Provide personalized 1 on 1 instruction for your students

Update your availability in the ClassUp App in a timely manner

Attend all classes on time and in a professional setting

Utilize ClassUp's curriculum, learning plans and materials

Submit written Class Feedback within 24 hours after each lesson

Communicate with parents and students in a professional and timely manner

Teachers are matched with students based on their availability and can tailor their schedule to their needs. Our peak class times are from 3-10 PM EST on the weekdays and day time during the weekends. New teachers should have at least 15 hours of availability within those time frames to be matched with students.
