Overview

We are seeking an experienced Turnaround Engineer to join the Maintenance Solution Department (MSD) under Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME).

MSD is responsible for providing maintenance technical consultations, towards a best-in-class maintenance organization through conducting selective maintenance assessments, turnaround assurances, and deploying cutting-edge technologies and best practices across the Global Manufacturing portfolio.

The primary role is to provide turnaround management services for refining and petrochemical plants of SAUDI ARAMCO (SA) downstream sector. The services will cover coordination with SA wholly owned assets, affiliates, affiliate management, and other related corporate functions such as the Corporate Maintenance Services Department.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

  1. Assist / Lead turnaround assurance review or cold-eye review of turnaround preparation of different facilities to ensure predictable outcomes and improvements.
  2. Review the progress and quality of deliverables during the turnaround lifecycle and all phases, providing convincing recommendations for improvements.
  3. Work as an influencer and motivate turnaround planning teams across different facilities to implement best practices, lessons learned, and enhance quality, safety, and competitiveness.
  4. Review implementation of stage-gated turnaround processes in different facilities.
  5. Assist / Conduct risk management workshops for turnarounds at different facilities.
  6. Assist / Conduct scope challenge workshops for turnarounds at different facilities.
  7. Assist / Conduct schedule challenge workshops for turnarounds at different facilities.
  8. Assist / Review Key Performance Indicators for turnarounds.
  9. Stay updated on significant technological developments that can improve turnaround performance.
  10. Lead and run a Community of Practice to collect and disseminate best practices and knowledge among all refining and petrochemical assets.
Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will hold:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized and approved program. A Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred.
  2. At least 12 years of experience in Turnaround Management, including planning and execution in the Oil & Gas Downstream sector (Refining & Petrochemicals).
  3. Experience with turnaround planning software such as Prometheus, ROSER, Primavera P6, or other end-to-end solutions for turnaround and outage management.
  4. Knowledge and experience in the turnaround stage-gated concept.
  5. Experience in conducting turnaround assurance is preferred.
  6. Understanding of competitiveness and Solomon indices related to turnaround performance.
  7. Experience in turnaround budgeting and cost optimization.
  8. Experience in contracting strategy, scope preparation, and technical bid evaluation for turnaround contracts.
  9. Experience in managing turnaround materials and resources.
  10. Experience in close-out activities such as critique, post-turnaround reports, and lessons learned documentation.
  11. Experience in turnaround risk management.
  12. Experience in cost benchmarking such as Solomon is preferable.
  13. Proficiency in SAP system.
  14. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
