Job description

The Mission Public School District acknowledges its location on the traditional, ancestral, unsurrendered, and shared territories of the Stó:lo people, including Leq'á:mel, Semá:th, Máthxwi, Sq'éwlets, and Qwó:ltl'el First Nations, who have stewarded this land since time immemorial.

Halq'eméylem is the language of this land and the Stó:lo ancestors. The dialect of Halq'eméylem (Upriver dialect) originates from Leqá:mel. This language is deeply connected to the land, a relationship that has existed since time immemorial.

This posting is ONLY open to graduates of the Education program. All other candidates should apply to the regular Teacher-Teaching-On-Call (TTOC) posting.

To process applications efficiently, please include in the first paragraph of your cover letter the university where you are completing your education program, the locations of your practicums (or in progress), and your teachable subjects including grade levels.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Education (Elementary or Secondary) degree, or in the process of completion, with an expected graduation date.
  • If your program is completed, please indicate that you have applied with the Teacher Regulation Branch.

All required documents must be included with your TTOC application, which include:

  • Resume
  • Cover letter
  • Names, phone numbers, and email addresses for three professional references (e.g., Faculty Associate, School Associate, Administrator). Reference letters are not required.

Note: Practicum reports signed by your Faculty Associate can be submitted when received, to: hrteaching@mpsd.ca in a single PDF file.

Salary ranges from $57,972 to $106,217, with placement based on length of service, FTE, and qualifications per the Collective Agreement.
