Job Description
Position Purpose: To provide customer service, sort incoming products, and assist in retail operations at the Salvation Army Thrift Store.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting and interacting positively with customers and donors.
• Contributing to sales targets and providing courteous service.
• Pricing products and protecting donation integrity.
• Managing store opening/closing, transactions, and adhering to policies.
• Processing donations, maintaining store layout, and inventory control.
• Ensuring store security and safety, including cleanliness and organization.
• Supporting donation processing and stock management.

Health & Safety
Maintain a safe environment by following regulations, cleaning, and organizing the store.

Relationships: Internal: Store manager, staff, volunteers; External: Customers, vendors.

Reporting: Directly to the Thrift Store Manager.

Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift 40 pounds, and work flexible hours including weekends. Must pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications: High school coursework or equivalent, customer service experience, cash handling skills, and ability to work independently and in a team.

Additional Details: This is a part-time, permanent position with varied weekly hours, primarily weekdays and Saturdays. Compensation ranges from $15.70 to $20.28 per hour, based on experience and qualifications. The role is suitable for youth aged 15-30 under the Canada Summer Student Program, with specific eligibility criteria.
