Job summary

RABI is seeking a proactive Trusts Fundraiser to join our growing Fundraising team. Your primary duties include researching charitable trusts, creating grant applications and stewarding relationships with current and prospective partners to secure funding for farming wellbeing initiatives.

You will also contribute to other income streams, maintain the CRM, and generate monthly reports. A minimum of three years in trust fundraising, strong communication and a passion for farming communities are

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in trust fundraising.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising disciplines.
  • Pro-active team player, self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Effective communicator in person, by phone, virtually and in writing.
  • Ability to convey complex information clearly and engagingly.
  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, agile and resilient, with good prioritisation.
  • Affinity with RABI's goals and values.

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify charitable trusts that may provide future financial support to RABI while maximising potential for giving from existing relationships.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key trust representatives.
  • Prepare, submit and monitor applications to charitable trusts and maintain records of applications, receipts and outcomes.
  • Update the CRM system to capture activities, communications, donations and other important details.
  • Compile statistical and background research to support development of new and existing trust relationships.
  • Monitor trust income, ensuring donations and grants are coded and restricted appropriately.
  • Create monthly reports on trust income received.
  • Support regular and individual giving, corporate, legacy and other income streams.
  • Provide general administrative and wider Fundraising team support.

year round. From confidential advice and mental health support to direct financial assistance, their tailored services respond to

the unique challenges of farming life.

Over the past 25 years alone, RABI has delivered almost £250 Million in direct financial support to the farming community, whilst

the charity’s professional counselling service has provided 11,500 free sessions to farming people since 2022. RABI’s wrap-around

support services continue to evolve, reaching more people year on year.

KEY PURPOSE:

As part of a growing and dynamic Fundraising team, your main duties will be to research trust and foundations, create and send applications, and steward relationships with current and prospective partners. As part of the team, you will also be involved in generating funds across various other income streams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • ResearchandidentifycharitabletruststhatmayprovidefuturefinancialsupporttoRABIwhilstmaximisingthe potential for
  • Giving from trusts with which the charity already has a relationship.
  • Developandmaintainrelationshipswithkeytrustrepresentatives.
  • Prepare,submitandmonitorapplicationstocharitabletrustsincludingthemaintenanceofrecordsofapplications, grant receipts and successful/failed submissions. Ensure trusts are thanked for donations in timely fashion.
  • Updating the CRM system to ensure activities, communications, donations and other important details are accurately recorded and maintained.
  • Compilestatisticalandbackgroundresearchtosupportthedevelopmentofnewandexistingrelationshipswith charitable trusts.
  • Monitortrustincomefor financialpurposes,ensuringalldonationsorgrantsarecodedappropriately,includingany restrictions upon the use of the income.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
  • A minimum of three years’ experienceofsuccessfultrustfundraising.
  • A good understanding of fundraising disciplines.
  • Apro-activeteamplayerwhoisalsoself-motivatedandconfidentworkingindependently.
  • Agoodcommunicator,whetherfacetoface,bytelephone, virtual calls orin writing.
  • Able toconvey complexinformationaccurately,succinctly andengagingly.
  • Enthusiastic,adaptable, agileandresilient,withtheabilitytofocus,prioritiseandmanageallaspectsofthisvariedrole in a fast-paced environment.
  • Affinity and understanding and demonstration of the goals and objectives of RABI.
DESIRABLE
  • Farming knowledge or an interest in agriculture and the people who work in it.
  • AfullUKdrivinglicense.
  • Knowledgeofworkinginaconfidentialenvironment,withsomeunderstandingofdataprotectionandfundraising compliance.
