What You’ll Be Doing

The Trust Administrator (TA) supports all key business processes for CIBC Trust to maintain effective controls and business operations. This role manages the administrative needs that spans across functions such as expense management, compliance, reporting, and other relevant business requirements.

This role reports to the Senior Manager, Business Effectiveness and works with a number of stakeholders across CIBC to meet business needs. Primary contacts will include leaders and advisors across the Insurance, Trust, and Wealth Planning.

This role is critical to promoting the efficient operation of Trust business and in turn, helping front line advisors create value and meet business objectives.

How you’ll succeed

  • Operational Support - Assist the Trust team with expense management; Advisor support and preliminary research for inquiries received and investigations.
  • Compliance – On-going file maintenance, including updating account information (ie, CIF's, Addresses, Email Agreement, Telephone, SIN's). Fees Integrity, including reviewing fee set-up on accounts on annual basis; and preparing a Statement of Compensation to review to ensure correct fee applied. Asset Collection/Consolidation/Maintenance, including collecting of cash assets upon receipt of probate as requested; in-kind asset transfers (both to and from another institution); cash control by minimizing overdrafts in coordination with administrator and Investment Management; updating adjusted cost bases (ACBs) on accounts; and updating or arranging for update of values of Miscellaneous Assets. Adherence to best practices and procedures is key
  • Reporting – Business engagement and tracking, along with data consolidation and reporting for internal partners, including Regional Directors (RDs), Senior Trust & Estate Consultants and other members of the national Financial Planning, Insurance and Trust team.
  • Communication and Documentation - Develop and maintain professional client relationships. Interact regularly with clients and beneficiaries and their lawyers, accountants, and financial planners to discuss account administration. Manage general team updates and communications
