Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Logistics Department, the Truck Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of our fleet equipment.


HOURS: 10-hour shifts overtime after 40 hours per week


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Complete all repairs and service to fleet equipment consisting of various trucks and trailers

  • Complete safety inspections on equipment

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Adhere to all company policies and applicable regulations

  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Shift work, days / evenings

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Safety Certification required if levels are applicable

  • Knowledge of hydraulics' is considered an asset

  • Good communication skills

  • Able to work with minimal supervision and/or in a team setting

  • Class 1 driver's license considered an asset


PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS:



  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with federal, and provincial standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards

  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with provincial standards

  • Sitting for prolonged periods of time

  • Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs

  • Typical of a food manufacturing plant environment including high volume of raw material smell, changeable weather and temperature conditions.

  • Noise level from moderate to high.

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, pulling, pushing, lifting etc.
