Job summary

Myrowich Staffing Agency is seeking an experienced mechanic to join the shop team. The role focuses on highway truck and trailer repairs with some automotive work and small projects for customers. You will be supported by the parts department in a large, well-equipped shop and expect some variation in tasks.

Responsibilities include inspecting equipment, diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and testing output. A Class 5 license, reliable attendance, and welding/fabrication skills are assets.

Qualifications

• Redseal certification for highway truck and trailer is required or five years of experience in lieu.
• Reliable attendance and ability to work extended hours.
• Available to work Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:30, Saturdays on rotating basis.
• Valid Class 5 license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to plan tasks, stay organized and solve problems.
• Welding or basic fabrication skills are an asset.
• Heavy lifting is required.

• Repair or replace defective parts and test repaired equipment.
• Perform safety inspections and communicate work required to pass inspections.
• Plan for booked jobs and track information for records and billing.

Job description

This Position issuited for someone with the ability to work independently, whileenjoying the support of the parts department, in house tools, a largecomfortable shop with some work diversity. The position will focus onHighway truck and trailer repairs and safeties but will include a bitof automotive work with some small various projects customers needcompleted (pto U joints, small welding jobs, hyd hose building asexamples)

Reportingto the Business Manager, the position will be responsible for shoptools, shop equipment maintenance and cleanliness, assisting withsome various small projects, planning for booked jobs and keepingtrack of information needed for record and billing purposes.

Checkingcustomer equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment todetect faults and malfunctions. Diagnose faults or malfunctions todetermine extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair orreplace defective parts, components or systems then test repairedequipment for proper performance.

Safetyinspections, communication of status or work required to passinspection or completing work required for equipment to passinspection.

Requirements

Redseal certification for highway truck and trailer, we would considerar nonticketed mechanic with 5 years or more of experience.

Reliableattendance with ability to work some extended hours as required

Beavailable to work Mon-Fri, 8:30-5:30, ability to work Saturdays on arotating basis

ValidClass 5 license with reliable transportation to and from work

Abilityto job task plan and organize, be self motivated with the ability toproblem solve

Welding/basicfabricating skills considered an asset

Heavylifting is required

RemunerationPackage

Pay will be provided bi-weekly with a range of$25-$40 per hour based on experience and level.
