Job summary

Golderado Contracting Corp in Fort Saskatchewan seeks an experienced Truck Driver - Heavy Hauler to operate, load, and transport oversized equipment.

You will work Monday to Friday with on-call evenings and weekends; safety focus and strong English communication are essential. Must have a valid Class 1 or 3 license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Haul oversized heavy equipment to various locations in a safe and professional manner.
• Load and unload heavy equipment.
• Read and understand transport plan beforehand to ensure obstacle-free and accessible routes.
• Assemble, configure, and disassemble Tractor Trailer.
• Regularly inspect all systems to ensure compliance with standards, codes, specifications.
• Ensure transports are within load limits and correctly secured.
• Pilot over dimensional loads.
• Operate trailers in simple and complex transports as required.
• Attend toolbox/safety meetings.

Truck Driver - Heavy Hauler

Key Information:

• Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM -5:30 PM. (8 Hours regular time, 2 hours over time)
• Must be willing to work evenings and weekends (on-call rotation)
• Hourly rate is dependent on experience.

Job Description:

• Haul overed heavy equipment to various locations, in a safe and professional manner.
• Load and unload heavy equipment.
• Read and understand transport plan beforehand in order to know whether it is free from obstacles and is accessible.
• Assemble, configure, and dissemble of Tractor Trailer.
• Visually inspect all systems on a regular basis and prior to each movement to ensure compliance with appropriate standards, codes, specifications, and features.
• assure all transports are within load limits of equipment and correctly secured.
• Pilot over dimensional loads.
• Operate the trailers in simple and complex transports according to job requirements.
• Attend toolbox/safety meetings in a constructive and contributing manner.

Experience and Certifications:

• Experience hauling oversized heavy equipment.
• Experience operating equipment to load and unload required.
• A minimum 2- 5 years previous experience hauling all types of equipment including Trailers and Hydraulic Platform Trailers (Jeep/Lowboy makes preferred) and winch trucks required.
• CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015 and TDG is required.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively.
• Proficient in English language.
• Ability to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentration.
• Time management skills.
• Good judgement and ability to react quickly in emergency situations.
• Understands the operations and limitations of the equipment.
• Mechanical ability to make minor repairs when needed.
• Positive and professional attitude: commitment to provide superior customer service.
• Commitment to safety performance.
• Valid Class 1 or 3 driver's license is required.
• A clean driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.
• A reliable means of transportation is required.
• Proficient English language skills required.

Education: Completion of high school or equivalent is required.
