Job summary

Genconian's Transport Inc. is seeking a long-haul truck driver to operate on the road from Calgary. You will be part of a two-person team or convoy, loading and unloading goods and handling documentation for international routes. Training is provided for those new to the role.

Qualifications include a Class 1 or A license and a strong focus on safety. The position is permanent, full-time with 30–40 hours per week, starting as soon as possible.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
• No experience required; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Professionalism in customer service.
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
• Load and unload goods.
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform brake adjustments.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
