Job description

At Park Landscape Group, we exist to enhance life outdoors and build long-term, rewarding careers for our team. Operating as Western Canada's premier commercial landscape partner, we deliver landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow management across Alberta.

We don't leave your career to chance. When you join Park, you join an earnest, hard-working team backed by modern equipment, clear safety standards, and real opportunities to advance.

The Role: Truck Driver (Class 5)

We provide the tools, technology, and support; you bring the skill and dedication. In this role, you will play a key part as the primary driver of production flow across our landscape construction, maintenance, and winter operations, ensuring smaller-scale deliveries and hotshot runs are executed smoothly and efficiently.

Your Daily Impact:

Transportation & Logistics: Operate company fleet vehicles (Class 5 trucks, flatbeds, utility vehicles) to transport materials, plant stock, tools, and light supplies between yards, suppliers, and job sites, optimizing routes to meet tight project timelines.

Loading & Material Handling: Safely load, secure (using straps, chains, or tarping), and unload materials while verifying load accuracy against dispatch orders and assisting with manual handling.

Equipment & Vehicle Care: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure compliance with Alberta traffic laws, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and promptly reporting mechanical needs.

Field & Crew Support: Provide active, hands-on field support between deliveries or during downtime (e.g., grading, shoveling, material placement, site cleanup) to ensure crew productivity and workflow continuity.

Safety & Compliance: Comply with provincial driving laws and Alberta Transportation standards for commercial use, adhering strictly to safety procedures and hazard assessments.

Documentation & Communication: Maintain accurate delivery logs, inspection records, and time tracking, keeping dispatch and field supervisors informed on delivery schedules or delays.

Seasonal Transition (Winter Services): Transition from November through April to support snow and ice management commitments with a flexible, weather-dependent schedule for winter snow events.

Essentials for Success (Qualifications & Skills)

To thrive in this role, you will need a solid technical foundation and a strong work ethic:

Knowledge: Working knowledge of Alberta traffic laws, basic load securement, and safe towing practices; understanding of light/medium commercial vehicle compliance.

Skills: Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (non-GDL preferred) with a clean abstract ( Class 3 License is a strong asset ); ability to tow light utility trailers; proficiency using GPS navigation and mobile dispatch apps; basic mechanical aptitude.

Abilities: 2+ years of professional or commercial driving experience (Class 5, hotshot, or delivery roles); physical stamina for heavy lifting (50+ lbs) and outdoor labor across changing Alberta weather conditions.

Compensation & Total Rewards

Your rewards package is designed to support your daily success and long-term financial goals:

Competitive Hourly Wage: Based on experience and skill level.

Predictable Paychecks: Through our Alberta Hours of Work Averaging Agreement, we offer banked time options to keep your pay steady during weather delays or seasonal shifts.

Health & Dental Benefits: Access to our comprehensive group health plan after standard probation.

RRSP Matching Program: Company-matched contributions to help you save for the future.

Discretionary Incentives: Performance-based bonus opportunities offered at the Company’s discretion.

Gear & Modern Tools: We supply high-quality PPE, modern equipment, and clean machinery so you can work safely and efficiently ("Built for Busy").
