Job description

Class 1 Truck Driver - Short Haul

Bradner R Farms Ltd. is looking for a short haul Class 1 Truck driver for our farming operation in Ashcroft, BC. This role involves local pickup and deliveries of farming equipment, as well as transporting hay, straw, round bales, and various farm products and supplies.

Wages: $31.00 per hour for a 40-hour week, with potential for longer hours during peak seasons such as harvest time.

Language Requirement: Must understand and communicate in English.

Experience: The ideal candidate will have experience operating and driving standard transmissions, primarily straight trucks and trailer units, to transport goods and materials on local and short interurban routes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the overall condition of the vehicle and accessories, including tires, lights, turning signals, brakes, and fluid levels.
  2. Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements.
  3. Follow safety procedures for transporting goods.
  4. Keep the truck and trailer clean, washing them after loads are unloaded.
  5. Be reliable, flexible, and a team player, communicating effectively with the manager and other team members.
