Job summary

Next Youth Job is hiring for a position in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where the successful candidate will operate trucks and carry out maintenance tasks. Responsibilities include loading and unloading goods, ensuring vehicle safety, and performing emergency repairs.

The ideal candidate must have a Class 1/1F/A Licence and a secondary school graduation certificate. Training is provided, and work will be conducted on-site with no remote option available.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Class 1/1F/A Licence for semi-trailer trucks.
  • Driver’s License (Class 1 or A) is required.
  • Ability to conduct pre-trip inspections and complete documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload goods safely.
  • Drive trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Inspect vehicle condition and maintain safety standards.
  • Perform preventive and emergency maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Professionalism in customer service
  • Load and unload goods
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Credentials
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks)
  • Driver’s License (Class 1 or A)
Documentation Knowledge
  • Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment
