Responsibilities
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions.
- Provide professional customer service.
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
- Operate and drive trucks to transport goods.
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect equipment.
- Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs.
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.
- Perform preventive maintenance.
- Communicate with central dispatch.
- Record cargo details, hours of service, and fuel consumption.

- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Provide professional customer service
- Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo details, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
