About the opportunity
Are you motivated by getting behind the wheel of one of our iconic blue trucks to deliver for customers? As our medium rigid Driver in our friendly StarTrack Paget based team, you’ll be the face of our trusted business, at the heart of your community and connecting businesses with their customers, and communities with each other day-in, day-out. You might not be working from home, but you’ll be on the road as a staple of your community, and it doesn’t get better than that!

This is a permanent, full time opportunity working Monday to Friday only! Enjoy the variety of freight handling in a team to being out on the road delivering and representing Australia Post Group to our customers. Enjoy developing rapport with your colleagues and customers alike. This role has an hourly rate of $31.26/hr plus 12% super. In addition we pay a $50/week location allowance along with over time rates.

You’ll be

  • Freight handling with your team in readiness to load your truck
  • Safely loading your truck with freight for your deliveries with teammates at the facility
  • Completing your own daily vehicle safety check
  • Driving our modern trucks between our operational centres and customers, for deliveries and pick-ups
  • Returning to Mackay facility to unload pick-ups

About you

You have a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable personality and love autonomy just as much as interacting with others and being a team player. You’re passionate about making a difference in the community.

You’ll also need to

  • Hold a medium rigid license (if you're looking to upskill to an MR we will look at C Class licence holders)
  • Be fit enough to load and unload freight items of all different shapes, sizes and weights, frequently in and out of a truck
  • Be safety-focused and understand the importance of chain of responsibility
  • Have a customer-centric mindset and effective communication skills
  • You will need to meet our safe working load limit of weighing 130kgs or less
  • Be prepared to undergo a driving assessment, pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screening, driving assessment and national criminal history checks
