Job summary

SAFEX TRANSPORT is seeking a professional truck driver to operate in a two-person team and manage international cargo across routes. You will obtain permits, inspect and drive heavy trucks, and relay information to dispatch.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to regulations, and proactive maintenance while handling cargo securely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation required.
• AZ/Class 1/A licences required.
• Experience is an asset for trucking roles.

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
• Obtain permits and documents for international routes.
• Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Inspect vehicle condition and tires, lights, brakes, etc.
• Perform emergency roadside repairs as needed.
• Complete pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections.
• Oversee maintenance and preventive checks.
• Relay information to central dispatch.
• Record cargo data, hours of service, distance and fuel used.
• Tarp and secure cargo; handle dangerous goods when needed.

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
• Transport and handle dangerous goods
