Job summary

The United Farmers of Alberta Co-operative Limited in Hanna, AB is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to deliver to members and customers safely and on time. You will follow transportation and OH&S regulations while maintaining accurate logs and vehicle checks.

Requirements include a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent with related experience, a valid Class 1 (or 3 with Q endorsement) driver's license, basic computer literacy, and forklift eligibility.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent with some related experience.
• Clean Class 1 (or 3 with Q endorsement) Driver’s abstract.
• Capable of physical labor, including lifting items up to 25 kg regularly.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Capable of working at heights.
• Forklift license (if applicable).
• Agricultural or petroleum background desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service within UFA’s guidelines, including heavy lifting.
• Ensure compliance with Transportation and OH&S regulations and UFA Fleet policies; maintain driver logs and inspections.
• Make deliveries to UFA members or customers as required.
• Load/unload trucks; ensure products match what is unloaded; follow safety procedures.
• Assist with shipping/receiving and operate forklifts or related equipment as needed.
• Assist with safety checks, maintenance of equipment, and stock/inventory tasks as directed.
• Maintain delivery logs and participate in on-call rotation and site inspections as required.

Job Summary:

Reporting to theYardManager, theTruck Driver is responsible for making timely, accurate and safe deliveries to UFA’s members and customers. This role has significant impact on customer’s perceptions of UFA, as well as significant accountabilities for environmental and safety policies and service excellence is required.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service within UFA’s customer service guidelines, including heavy lifting on a frequent basis.
• Ensure to comply with all Transportation and OH&S regulations as well as UFA Fleet policies on maintenance, driver logs and inspections. Adhere to UFA Commercial Driver expectations and policies at all times
• Make deliveries to UFA members or customers as required.
• Load and unload trucks ensure that product signed for matches the product being unloaded. Follow UFA’s loading and unloading procedures and OH&S safety procedures to ensure products are safely secured.
• Assist with shipping and receiving functionson a regular basis when not on delivery, including operates forklifts and other equipment if applicable.
• Assist in forklift and equipment maintenance and performs safety checks. Adhere to safety regulations.
• Maintain delivery logbooks as required.
• Perform on other duties if required: i.e.: shipping and receiving product from vendors(as assigned); perform maintenance on inventory or cycle counts, as directed; participate in after hours on call rotation; maintain cardlock and assist with cleaning and maintenance including snow removal; assist with weekly and monthly site inspections when required, etc.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 diploma with 1-2 years of related experience, or equivalent of 3-5 years related experience.
• Clean Class 1(or 3 with Q endorsement) Driver’s abstract.
• Capably of physical labor, including lifting items up to 25kg on a regular basis.
• Must have basic computer literacy skills.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Capable of working at heights.
• Forklift license (if applicable).
• Agricultural or petroleum background is desirable.

This is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
