Job summary

UFA is seeking a Yard Shipper/Receiver in Alberta to efficiently receive products, place them in storage, pick, pack and ship outbound orders, and support inventory control while upholding safety and service standards.

Reporting to the Yard Manager, you will handle shipping/receiving, operate equipment, perform load/unload activities, and contribute to accurate inventory and customer service across UFA facilities.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma with 1-2 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, 3-5 years related experience without a Grade 12 diploma.
• Warehouse/yard and forklift experience.
• Capable of physical labour; lifting up to 25 kg.
• Basic computer proficiency; POS experience; cash handling is an asset.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• WHMIS and TDG certifications; shift-work flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Participate in shipping/receiving/inventory functions with accurate daily records.
• Perform inventory maintenance and cycle counts as directed.
• Operate materials handling equipment and assist forklift maintenance.
• Load and unload trucks following safety procedures.
• Maintain location inventory and keep yard/warehouse appearance per standards.
• Own the Aisle area to uphold merchandising and inventory standards.
• Make deliveries when required.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Yard Manager, the Yard Shipper / Receiver is responsible to efficiently, effectively and accurately receive products into the designated UFA location; place in appropriate storage locations; pick, pack and ship same for outbound orders to all customers. Assist in all other functions as required. Must adhere to all UFA customer service standards. This includes ensuring that member / customers are promptly and efficiently served; inventory is received, shipped and handled in an accurate and safe manner, and equipment is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all aspects of the shipping/receiving/inventory functions, accountable for accurate daily completion of all receiving, shipping, inventory control and administrative / IFS requirements; ensure excellent service is provided to all customers.
• Perform maintenance on inventory or cycle counts, as directed.
• Operate all materials handling equipment. Assist in forklift and equipment maintenance.
• Load and unload trucks. Follow UFA loading and unloading procedures to ensure products are safely secured.
• Conduct location inventory in prescribed manner. Maintain yard and warehouse appearance as assigned, and in compliance with UFA safety regulations and operational standards.
• Responsible for “Own the Aisle” area of assigned responsibility in yard to ensure merchandising and inventory standards are consistently maintained.
• Make deliveries when required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma with 1 - 2 years of related experience or equivalent may be 3 - 5 years related experience without grade 12 diploma.
• Warehouse/Yard and forklift experience.
• Capable of physical labour; capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
• Basic computer proficiency required as may be cross trained on POS system. Previous cash handling experiences an asset.
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Must remain current with any and all required certifications, including WHMIS and TDG.
• Flexible to accommodate shift work.

Is a safety sensitive position as will be on site at UFA facilities and will be using UFA material handling equipment. The successful applicant will be required to pass (negative result) a drug and alcohol screening test as a condition of employment.
