Position Summary

Are you a seasoned Class 1 Truck Driver who thrives on long hours behind the wheel and knows the AB-BC mountain routes like the back of their hand? Do you bring dedication to the worksite as a team player and take genuine pride in keeping your rig spotless? If so, we'd like to hear from you!

You'll tackle a mix of long-distance hauls (often across provincial borders) and local deliveries, depending on project locations. Expect to be home most evenings, although some routes may require up to 4 overnight stays per week. A solid background driving semi-trailers through the mountain routes between Alberta and British Columbia is essential.

Job Description

  • Operate a semi-truck safely to transport precast products across Western Canada
  • Execute pre- and post-trip inspections, load/unload materials, and secure cargo
  • Navigate efficiently, using permits, maps, and instructions to stay on schedule
  • Maintain a clean unit and ensure proper maintenance is completed
  • Complete required paperwork including but not limited to driver logs, e-logs, and truck inspections
  • Comply with federal and provincial commercial vehicle legislation
  • Safely load and unload equipment on and off flat decks as required
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Valid Standard First Aid, Hours of Service (Federal), Pre-trip Inspection, and Load Securement
  • Valid Class 1 License and acceptable abstract
  • Available to work Monday to Friday, occasional Saturday
  • Minimum 50 hours per week, must be flexible and willing to work overtime
  • Experience with manual transmission, deck and Super-B trailers
  • Experienced in hauling semi-trailers between Alberta and British Columbia mountain routes
  • Physically fit with the ability to consecutively lift 50lbs
  • Comfortable climbing ladders and working at heights
  • The ability to safely load and unload different types of equipment
  • A history of continued employment with good references
  • Proficient in both verbal and written English communication
  • Attendance at a monthly 6:00am safety meeting (typically the first Monday of each month)
