Work setting: On site

Salary: $36.60 per hour, 40 to 50 hours per week

Terms of employment: Permanent, full-time

Start date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarp and secure cargo for safety and security
