Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role in Saskatoon, SK. The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and managing day-to-day freight operations, including scheduling drivers, ensuring on-time deliveries, tracking shipments, and resolving issues promptly. The role requires strong logistics skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with both drivers and clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch and monitor drivers daily, ensuring efficient loads and timely deliveries.
  • Maximize fleet productivity by reducing empty miles and improving revenue per mile.
  • Coordinate with planning, sales, and dispatch teams to organize freight.
  • Confirm ETAs, appointments, and border-crossing documents (PARS/PAPS).
  • Act as the first line of contact for drivers, supporting them in problem-solving and compliance.
  • Monitor driver logs, schedules, and safety standards to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with HR and Safety to address performance, scheduling, and safety concerns.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with dispatch software and industry systems
  • Highly organized with strong time-management and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling and reporting
  • Flexible and available outside standard business hours when required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary in logistics/transportation an asset)
