Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited is hiring a Full-time Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician/Truck & Trailer Mechanic in Alberta. The role involves on-site and off-site repairs, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections for tractors, trailers, chassis, converters, and reefers.

We seek licensed technicians registered with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training, with a valid driver’s license, strong safety mindset, and good communication.

Qualifications

• Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck & Trailer Mechanic
• Registered with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training
• Valid driver’s license is an asset
• Ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment including tractors, trailers and reefers
• Experience with maintenance software and record-keeping
• Willingness to learn new skills and work in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and offsite repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment (tractors, trailers, chassis, converters, reefers)
• Diagnose issues quickly and repair urgent needs, identifying further maintenance
• Conduct and sign off on annual safety inspections
• Log parts used and notes into the maintenance software per repair
• Participate in formal and informal training sessions
• Perform other maintenance duties as required

What you'll do:

• Provide onsite and offsite repairs and preventative maintenance on various types of equipment including tractors, trailers, chassis, converters, reefers
• Inspect and diagnose issues quickly and repair immediate need items; ability to recognize additional maintenance and repair required
• Conduct and sign off on annual safety inspections
• Outline all parts used and input comments into the work order (complaint, cause and correction) regarding the repair into Maintenance software system
• Participate in formal and informal training sessions
• Perform other maintenance duties as required

What you'll need:

• Licensed Heavy Equipment Technician or licensed Truck and Trailer Mechanic
• Registered with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training
• Prior work experience as a Technician on various types of equipment including tractors, trailers, chassis, converters, reefers; and/or mobile experience an asset
• Valid driver’s license an asset
• Able to use current technology to ensure vehicle safety and performance
• Safety minded
• Well-organized, enthusiastic, professional and a positive team member
• Good verbal and written communication skills, relationship building and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn new skills
• Possess required tools
