Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years welding skills and technical knowledge of transportation equipment.
  • Grade 12 or equivalent with Red Seal Truck & Coach certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on transportation equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct government safety inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Job description

The primary responsibility of the position is to perform safe, quality repairs to customer equipment in a timely manner, utilizing experience and continuous process improvement to contribute to our team and work environment.

Duties
Service Centre

  1. Perform all types of repairs and maintenance to transportation equipment
  2. Perform all tasks to best practices timelines
  3. Provide necessary hand tools for job completion
  4. Perform welding, including arc, MIG, Aluminum, Steel, air arc, plasma cutting and acetylene cutting
  5. Perform all types of brake, suspension, air system, electrical and body repairs
  6. Perform government safety inspections
  7. Ensure all parts and consumables being used are recorded on the work order at time of use
  8. Keep work area in standard operating condition at all times, including tools stored in standard locations
  9. Occasional road service calls for emergency service
  10. Promote a safe work environment, follow safety standards at all times and ensure timely reporting of any Health and Safety issues
  11. Other work as may be defined
Education and Training
  1. Grade 12 or equivalent with technical training
  2. Red Seal Truck & Coach certification
  3. Able to use large tools typical of transport equipment repair shop
  4. Professional and respectful communication skills
  5. Strong technical skills related to transportation equipment
  6. Fluent in reading and writing in English
  7. Minimum 2 years welding skills
