Job summary

Northstar Executive Search seeks a Truck and Coach Technician (Licensed or Apprentice) to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trucks, buses and trailers for a large civil construction company operating in Chapleau and Dubreuilville.

The role requires a valid 310T license or active apprenticeship, with knowledge of diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems. Accommodations and gas allowance are provided, with a 7/7 or 14/14 rotation.

Qualifications

  • Valid 310T Technician license or registered in an apprenticeship program.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and heavy‑duty electrical systems.
  • Physically capable of handling demanding workshop and field tasks.
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools and software.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnostics & inspection of engines, braking, steering & suspension.
  • Maintenance & repair of engines, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts & electrical systems.
  • Ensure safety compliance with PMI and MTO regulations.
  • Work on HVAC, hydraulic systems and exhaust emission controls.
  • Complete repair orders and documentation of work performed.

Job Description: Truck and Coach Technicians (310T) and Apprentices required to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trucks, buses, and trailers for a large civil construction company operating in Chapleau and Dubreuilville.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics & Inspection: Use computerized diagnostic tools to locate faults in engines, braking, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Adjust, repair, or replace components such as engines, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, and electrical systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Perform preventative maintenance inspections (PMI) and ensure vehicles meet Ministry of Transportation (MTO) regulations.
  • System Specialization: Work on specialized systems including HVAC, hydraulic systems, and exhaust emission controls.
  • Documentation: Complete repair orders and documentation of work performed.
Required Skills
  • Certification: Valid 310T Technician license (in Ontario/Canada) or registered in an apprenticeship program.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of diesel engines, heavy-duty electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to handle heavy lifting, climbing, and working in tight spaces.
