- Maintaining company owned equipment, diagnosis truck-trailer systems and fleet vehicles. Approx. 50 trucks and trailers
- Supervise the maintenance of all heavy duty equipment (eg. Forklifts, Tractors)
- Diagnoses potential truck / vehicle and equipment malfunctions (e.g. Engine, Transmission, Air Conditioning and Electrical with the use of computer diagnostic equipment, pressure gauges, Detroit-Diagnostic Linc / Cummins-Insite)
- Completes regular scheduled safety inspections as required by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario using the New DriveON Protocol & Equipment
- Hydraulic repairs and service
- Adjusts and relines brakes on all truck / vehicles and trailers when required
- Schedule repairs & maintenance based on time, mileage while coordinating fleet availability
- Communicate with drivers to help minimalize preventable road / vehicle issues.
- Train apprentice mechanic, assists other mechanics
- Performs test drives on vehicles to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working safely
- Paperwork at the completion of each fleet repair
- Source & order all parts / supplies for inventory and repair
- All other duties as assigned
Job Description

Qualifications
- Certificate licensed 310T Mechanic
- Experience mentoring and supervising a Team or experience leading to becoming a Team Lead.
- Post-Secondary related to field (Preferred)
- Very good English Communication skills, written and verbal
- Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic troubleshooting abilities
- Own on tools an asset
