Tremblay Elementary School requires a Vice-Principal - Effective August 1, 2025
Tremblay Elementary School requires a Vice-Principal who is authentic, innovative, and resilient. This Vice-Principal will have a passion for impacting student achievement, school culture and a desire to work proactively with students, staff, parents and the community, while honouring diversity and equity. This position will involve a teaching component.
Tremblay Elementary School is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 school with approximately 180 students located in Dawson Creek. With a strong focus on relationships and restorative practices, the school has a positive and welcoming culture. Tremblay Elementary School has a focus on Fine Arts and Athletics including after school programming. The school operates on a continuous cycle of examining achievement data and putting tiered interventions in place to support all students.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
Academic Qualifications
If not currently in possession of such a degree, the successful candidate must be willing to complete one within three years.
Must hold, or be eligible to hold, teaching certification in the province of British Columbia.
Professional Experience
Record of exemplary teaching at a variety of grade levels in more than one school.
School-based or district-wide leadership as a teacher and / or administrator.
Successful experience working with, and implementing programs / intervention for, students with diverse needs. Can provide examples of striving for equity for indigenous learners, students with complex needs, and any other identified student / group.
LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES
Experience implementing academic, social-emotional and behavioural supports and interventions that are appropriate to the needs of individual students.
Ability to foster, maintain and restore healthy relationships that promote a positive school climate and culture that is welcoming, honours diversity, is pro-active, and demonstrates a restorative approach to student discipline.
Demonstrates positive competencies in communication, collaboration, and teamwork. Values and promotes meaningful engagement with students, staff, parents, and community.
Demonstrated ability to improve measured student success within a context of implementing district strategic planning goals and directions.
MANAGEMENT COMPETENCIES
Proven experience and ability with analytical, organizational, problem solving, and decision-making skills to effectively handle a wide range of competing tasks and priorities, with a demonstrated commitment to excellent service delivery to all students.
Comfort with decentralized school budget management in alignment with district strategic plans and school growth plans.
Ability to de-escalate situations and promote positive solutions to problems. Able to navigate difficult conversations with all stakeholders.

Tremblay Elementary School is a Fine Arts and Athletics specialty school of approximately 155 students. Fine arts and athletics are offered both as part of focus groups and as part of our afterschool programming. A free breakfast program is offered to all students, and hot lunch is available for purchase daily.
