The Referral Admissions Specialist serves as a direct point of contact for EHN Canada’s contractual and strategic partnerships when referring a client, patient, or employee into EHN Canada’s inpatient and outpatient treatment services. The specialist is responsible for efficient placement of clients into EHN’s facilities while ensuring a high level of care and communication is provided to clients, referents, and EHN staff, all with the ultimate goal of ensuring great client experience and optimal treatment outcomes. The role requires being detail oriented and critical thinking to provide exceptional customer service to referents and their clients.
Note that this position is a 15 month Temporary Fulltime position from July 2025 to October 2026.
Responsibilities
- Expert navigation of admissions processes for patients from referent sources
- Reception, ownership and management of inquiries from referents
- Facilitate phone screening assessments with client and all preparatory clinical and administrative tasks related to BD client admission planning, preparation, and onboarding.
- Participation in treatment planning while liaising with referent throughout the process.

- Prepare interdisciplinary team with client profile and communicate treatment plan highlighting referent needs.
- Communicate client information and referent expectations during handover to Medical/Clinical Teams and coordinate with Referent Relations Managers for file management handover.
- Establish communication/reporting requirements for all stakeholders, as applicable.
- Provide weekly reporting to BD team on confirmed and pipeline admissions, barriers to treatment, client treatment concerns and feedback, and insights obtained during referent conversations.
- Proactively solicit permission and provide mailing signup for EHN Webinars, Newsletters and email to facilitate ongoing BD and Marketing efforts.
- Act as a customer service representative to referents for feedback, concerns, complaints and navigate accordingly. Coordinate with Referent Relations team or the team(s) responsible for delivering the treatment experience accordingly to address needs of the referent.
- Accompany BD managers to in-person/virtual presentations and/or strategic meetings, as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for EHN Canada to deepen their relationship with the referent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, health sciences, health informatics, or related field is an asset.
- Understanding of Addictions and Mental Health care provision an asset
- 1-3 years experience in case management, care coordination, or sales
- Clinical, Sales and/or Customer Service experience is an asset
- Strong communication, relationship building, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of healthcare or addiction treatment industry preferred
