Qualifications

Who We Are

Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) is the leading independent clearing broker and custodian in the Canadian market. Based in Toronto, Fidelity Clearing Canada provides trade execution, clearing, custody and back-office support services to Canadian-based brokerage firms and the Canadian brokerage arms of U.S.-based firms.

What You’ll Be Doing

The Treasury Manager is responsible for ensuring treasury services are delivered in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a high level of service to both our internal and external clients. Reporting to the Director, Treasury, this role is responsible for conducting, monitoring and reviewing the treasury activity of FCC; for ensuring FCC capital is deployed most efficiently and FCC has sufficient liquidity for business operations. This role also carries responsibility for reconciliation of treasury accounts including foreign currency accounts.

Overseeing and Conducting Daily Funding Activities

  • Start of Day, End of Day Cash balancing with banks and depositories
  • Determining need for additional activity, instructing FX swap and/or call loan activities
  • Oversee foreign currency activity

Treasury Forecasting

  • Collaborate with internal FCC departments and FCC clients to forecast accurate daily, weekly and monthly treasury needs
  • Work with FCC Settlements to understand upcoming requirements and potential impacting events. Proactively review previous forecasts and forecasting methods to improve accuracy

Interest Rate Structure

  • Collaborate with Director, Treasury, FCC to construct and deliver a relevant interest strategy
  • Determine accurate and informed interest rates for IB’s, individual clients and one-off requests
  • Oversee monthly IB interest sharing activities, review these activities for accuracy and post results
  • Monitor foreign currency FX rates and ensure interest rate strategy accurately calculates interest on these debit and credit balance. Collaborate with foreign banks and custodians, FCC Banking and FCC Trading to manage these balances

Treasury Review and Reporting

  • Use continuous improvement techniques to review recent events to improve daily funding activities and forecasting abilities
  • Review all activity and collaborate with bank relationships and internal departments for accuracy.
  • Participate on internal and external audits to provide required information

Treasury Relationships

  • Working with Director, Treasury to maintain, expand and service FCC Treasuryrelationships
  • Ensure Banking, Depository and Trading relationships are current and active and communication with relevant contacts is conducted consistently. Ensure financing lines are available at beneficial rates and there is a substantial level of two-way communication so the events impacting Treasury are well known.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years’ experience in Banking or Treasury
  • Experience in Brokerage operations is an asset
