Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and detail-oriented person to join our Finance & Accounting (F&A) team as an Analyst – Treasury & Corporate Financial Reporting. This permanent full-time role reports to the Manager, Financial Reporting & Cost Management and works closely with the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) Team Lead.
This position provides specialized assistance for treasury operations and key accounting functions that are foundational to accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing daily treasury activities, assisting with accounting, and contributing to the integrity of financial data in accordance with IFRS.
The Analyst will collaborate across multiple teams to aid in process improvements, ensure compliance with internal controls, and enable efficient month-end and year-end close. What You’ll be Doing:
Treasury & Cash Management
- Perform daily cash funding and prepare short- and long-term cash flow forecasts
- Prepare investment proposals, monthly interest income evaluation, and cash management reporting
- Oversee payroll and tax-related funding requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Guide credit facility renewal applications and preside over banking administration (e.g., user access, documentation, system changes)
- Liaise with external banking partners to resolve day-to-day operational issues and maintain effective treasury operations
- Ensure treasury activities follow internal control standards and audit requirements
- Validate treasury data alignment with the general ledger and collaborate with FP&A on forecasting
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Prepare journal entries and assist in monthly close processes in accordance with IFRS, with a focus on treasury related accounts
- Perform monthly reconciliations and analysis for assigned balance sheet accounts
- Drive monthly variance analysis and provide clear explanations of actual vs. forecasted results to Finance leadership
- Assist the Monthly Financial Review (MFR) process, including report preparation, business unit engagement, and insights generation
- Collaborate with the CFR Team Lead to ensure accurate and timely completion of period-end deliverables
- Prepare internal and external financial reports, including support for CONETS, Statistics Canada, and shareholder reporting requirements
- In collaboration with the Capital Analyst, maintain the Fixed Asset sub-ledgers supporting capitalization, CIP transfers, and disposals
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls; prepare audit assistance as needed
- Participate in internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, documentation, and assisting with walkthroughs
Process Improvement & Special Projects
- Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and improved data quality in treasury and capital reporting processes
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of working templates, models, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Aid the implementation of system upgrades, reporting tools, or process changes as part of cross-functional initiatives
- Participate in ad hoc assignments and enterprise-wide projects, providing subject matter expertise in treasury and capital accounting
What You’ll Bring:
- University degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance
- CPA designation (CPA-CA, CMA, or CGA) preferred
- 5+ years of progressive financial experience, with exposure to treasury operations and/or financial reporting
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and financial close processes
- Experience preparing account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting packages
- ERP system experience (SAP preferred); advanced Excel experience required
- Working knowledge of banking portals or treasury systems is an asset
