Achieves sales and other targets established by business plans. Continuously assesses and improves work processes for sales, service management, risk management, and compliance within prescribed limits to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. Optimizes opportunities through deal teams and sales calls, maximizing business success. Influences the strategic direction of the line of business by assisting with the development, prioritization, and implementation of business, technology, sales, and service initiatives, channel optimization, and enhancing customer experience.

  • Provides support for sales activities such as presentations, bids/proposals, and requests for information.
  • Develops an effective external network to support the identification of new and increased investment/lending business opportunities.
  • Retains and expands existing relationships to achieve portfolio retention, sales, service, and profitability objectives.
  • Establishes and enhances the Bank’s brand by participating in meaningful and focused business and community engagements.
  • Participates in industry forums and conferences to stay informed of industry trends, competitive insights, products, and services.
  • Provides subject matter expertise on market conditions and trends to maintain high environmental awareness.
  • Coordinates cash management product implementation and financial transaction setup.
  • Ensures consistent personnel training throughout the team.
  • Acts as the daily sales contact for clients regarding product information, pricing, implementation timeframes, and requirements.
  • Gathers detailed information from clients to facilitate sales processes, including completing necessary documentation.
  • Assists with pre-sales activities such as pitch preparation, client research, and prospect/client file preparation.
  • Tracks implementation requests to ensure timelines are met and billing is accurate.
  • Recommends improvements to sales support materials based on internal reports and feedback.
  • Prepares pre-call and post-call packages by accessing internal systems and bank personnel to validate client holdings, pricing, and volumes.
  • Provides research and data gathering support to the sales team to address client/prospect needs.
  • Supports sales and service administration to ensure a seamless client experience and opportunity identification.
  • Maintains accurate and current client information in the bank’s systems/files.
  • Focus primarily on business/group within BMO, with potential broader enterprise-wide focus.
  • Uses judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within established rules.
  • Works independently on complex tasks, including unique situations.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

    Qualifications:

  • Typically 4-6 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience.
  • Highly preferred banking experience with a Cash Management sales background.
  • Technical proficiency through education and/or business experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration and team skills.
  • In-depth analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Influence skills - in-depth.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills.
  • Note: This role requires onsite presence for 4 days a week.

Salary: $54,500.00 - $101,500.00

Pay Type: Salaried

The salary range reflects BMO Financial Group’s compensation for this grade. Placement within the range depends on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications, and may include a commission structure. Compensation is market-based, using trusted third-party data. Salaries for part-time roles are pro-rated. The listed salary for commission roles is a target for the first year.
