Job summary

StandardAero is seeking an experienced Treasury Accountant to join our Winnipeg, MB team. You will manage monthly bank reconciliations for domestic and international accounts and ensure close deadlines are met while maintaining strong internal controls.

You will investigate reconciling items, record correcting entries, and collaborate with treasury, AP, AR and finance teams to resolve issues. A detail-oriented mindset and proficiency with Excel are essential.

Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, treasury or a related role.
  • Strong hands-on reconciliation experience, including investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to quickly learn processes and work independently with minimal ramp-up.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure reconciliations are completed accurately and within established monthly close deadlines.
  • Identify, research, document, and resolve reconciling items, including outstanding checks, deposits in transit, bank fees, returned payments, unidentified receipts or disbursements, transfers in transit, and other timing or posting differences.
  • Investigate aged or unusual reconciling items and coordinate with Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, business unit finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
  • Prepare and record correcting journal entries identified through the reconciliation process.
  • Maintain appropriate supporting documentation and evidence of preparation in accordance with company policies and internal control requirements.

  • Experience working with multiple ERP and financial systems
  • Familiarity with SOX compliant environment, US GAAP and financial controls

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Solid understanding of accounting and financial transactions, including reconciliations and journal entries
