Job summary

Surrey Place in Brampton, ON, seeks a Behaviour Support Worker to contribute to the TRE-ADD program delivering ABA treatment to children and youth up to 18 in ECPP classrooms. Supervised by a Therapist team, the role supports behaviour management and data collection across locations in the Greater Toronto Area.

Applicants should have a 3-year college diploma or certificate (Behaviour Science/Child & Youth Work), knowledge of ABA, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • 3-year college diploma/certificate in Behaviour Science or Child & Youth Work.
  • Experience with children/youth with severe challenging behaviours and ASD is an asset.
  • Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA).
  • A Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.
  • Must lift and transfer 50 lbs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver intensive, individualized ABA assessment and treatment in ECPP classrooms, focusing on behaviour management.
  • Support adaptive daily living, classroom, and communication skills.
  • Collect and track data.
  • Adhere to reporting and record-keeping requirements.

Position Description

The TRE-ADD(Treatment, Research & Education for Autism and Developmental Disorders)Program at Surrey Place is seeking a Behaviour Support Worker to support in the delivery of individualized ABA treatment to children and youth up to the age of 18 withinour ECPP (EducationCommunity Partnership Program)classrooms, formerly known as Section 23 classrooms. Clients receiving service in this program have a diagnosis of Autism and other Developmental Disorders and exhibit severe behavioural, communication, socialization and learning challenges. Clinical supervision and guidance will be provided by a Supervising Therapist and Clinical Supervisor.

Please note that Behaviour Support Worker may on occasion be reassigned to other ECPP classrooms to support short term clinical needs. We have four locations across the Greater Toronto Area, including Mississauga, Brampton, Etobicoke, and Scarborough.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support in the delivery of intensive, individualized ABAassessment andtreatmentfor clientsinECPPclassrooms,specifically focusing on behaviour management
  • Support clients with adapted daily living, classroom, and communication skills.
  • Support in collecting and tracking data.
  • Adhere to agency requirements relating to reporting writing and record keeping.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A 3-year Community College Diploma or Certificate such as Behaviour Science Technology, Child and Youth Worker or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with children and youth with severe challenging behaviours and knowledge of ASD is an asset
  • Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis.
  • The successful candidate must provide an acceptable Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Must be able to lift and transfer 50 lbs.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset
