Job description

Role Summary

The General Superintendent will develop and execute the project plan and oversee all aspects of assigned projects with significant complexity. This position is responsible for managing the team, planning construction sequencing, and meeting project goals, all in support of JE Dunn's strategy, vision, and values.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Lead safety culture and promote an injury-free environment, investigating incidents and retraining staff as needed.
  • Manage subcontractors, organize overall job workflow, and oversee company staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Develop work plans, coordinate project site activities, and lead meetings such as daily standups and weekly trade meetings.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and costs, and communicate key information to stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper documentation, quality compliance, and support project closeouts.
  • Participate in project pursuit, negotiations, and team collaboration to deliver successful projects.
Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core
  • Manage large, complex projects from planning to completion and lead multiple project teams.
  • Contribute to company strategic initiatives and training content development.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management software, and construction technology.
  • Deep knowledge of construction processes, trades, budgeting, and productivity.
  • Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability, and foster team collaboration.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years construction experience, with 10+ years in field supervision, including experience on large projects.
Working Environment
  • Valid driver's license required.
