Job summary

Capital One Canada is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Travel Tech, owning full‑stack development across the travel portal. You’ll contribute to the end‑to‑end journey from planning to booking, applying modern multi‑platform architectures and open source tools.

You will mentor junior engineers, drive architectural decisions, and collaborate across a cross‑functional team in a hybrid environment with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• 6+ years hands-on development experience with two or more listed languages.
• 6+ years in design, architecture and development of applications.
• Experience building both front-end and back-end in a full-stack role.
• Experience mentoring junior/intermediate engineers and guiding stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Act as a tech lead developer owning design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform systems.
• Utilize JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, Angular/TypeScript, Python, Java and/or Go, plus AWS tools and services.
• Continuously improve software engineering developer experience and internal frameworks.
• Establish engineering best practices and code review standards.
• Define technical standards and provide support to ensure best practices are met.
• Ownership of architecture with High Level Design methodology and contributions to HLD.
• Mentor junior and intermediate associates in engineering standards.
