You're touching the whole journey.We are solving real customer problems: we need all hotels at the right price with accurate information, and we need to make sure the portal is the best place to book your travel.**Your Responsibilities:*** Work as part of a dynamic team throughout the Software Development Life Cycle* Act as a tech lead developer owning technical design and development of cross-functional, multi-platform, fault tolerant application systems* Utilize programming languages like JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS, Angular/TypeScript, Python, Java and/or Go, Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and a variety of AWS tools and services* Continuously improve software engineering developer experience; identify gaps in existing internal framework and tools and contribute* Establish Engineering best practices; identify and establish best practices and standards, such as code review standards.* Technical expertises and Problem solving; define technical standards and providing technical support to ensure Engineering best practices are consistently met* Architecture ownership - apply strong understanding of how evolving technology affects domain, follow High Level Design (HLD) methodology and contribute to HLD* Provide mentorship to junior and intermediate associates through engineering best practices and standards**Basic Qualifications:*** At least 6 years of hands-on development experience preferably using at least two or more of the following programming languages: JavaScript, React, Angular/TypeScript, Python, Node.js, Java, and/or Go* At least 6 years of experience with application and/or data design, architecture and development* Proficiency in building both the user-facing front-end and the server-side back-end of applications as this is a Full-Stack role* Experience providing mentorship to Junior/Intermediate Associates and guidance to technical and business stakeholders**Preferred Qualifications:*** 8+ Years of experience leading the full life-cycle of Software Development* Bachelor's, Master’s or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or in related field* Experience working in an agile environment and familiar with agile development methodologies* Experience with AWS (highly preferred) or other cloud products (Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)**Working at Capital One.**You’ll be empowered to take end-to-end ownership of your work and your career, backed by a high-performance, hybrid culture and holistic suite of benefits designed to support your whole self. * ****Take ownership of your own potential:**** Whether you’re looking to upskill, pivot into new business areas, or master your craft, you’ll have access to tools and mentorship to reach your potential and define your career trajectory.* ****Find your rhythm:**** We believe trust fosters the flexibility and autonomy required to balance personal needs with a focus on high performance.
