Job description

Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) looking for an exciting and meaningful nursing experience in Nunavut? Do you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of those you care for? Have you considered travelling for work to expand your personal and professional growth in healthcare? We offer a unique opportunity to experience an expanded clinical scope of practice while enjoying an adventure! Typical assignment durations range from 2 to 4 weeks.

The Work You Will Do
  1. Work collaboratively in a team environment, performing an expanded scope of practice in communities, providing primary and emergency care to residents of all ages—from newborns to elders—at a nursing station or Health Center within a clinical setting.
  2. Apply observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, counseling, and health teaching skills according to care plans.
  3. Engage in health promotion, assessments, care planning, and implementation using Best Practice Clinical Guidelines; provide primary and emergency care; participate in travel nursing; create care plans; and manage IPAC and communicable disease control, including immunizations.
  4. Ensure ongoing attention to the emotional, spiritual, physical comfort, and safety of clients within your scope of practice.

Who You Are
  • You are a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and hold a current nursing license through the governing body.
  • You are a licensed nurse in good standing.
  • You are willing to obtain a nursing license through the regulating body in the provinces or territories where you wish to work.
  • You meet the required work experience.
  • Mandatory skillsets and additional training requirements, including reimbursements, will be discussed during the interview.
