What you need to bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or another closely related field or a combination of education and/or work experience is required.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a public relations, social influencer, or travel media role with an understanding of the strategic side of earned coverage.
  • A strong understanding of media and social media marketing and travel influencers, what they need, how we can attract them to visit Greater Victoria, and how to ensure their in-market experience is top-notch.
  • Established media/influencer contacts; relationships with key media outlets/social media channels.
  • Ability to uncover great stories within the destination.
  • Exceptional writing skills (excellence in spelling and grammar are essential in this role).
  • Contributes to a culture of high performance, mutual support, and fosters collaboration across the organization.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and results oriented.
