Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) seeks a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedics with a specialist interest in Lower Limb Trauma and/or foot and ankle surgery. The role supports high-quality elective and trauma care across the Orthopaedic department, with inpatient and outpatient duties.

The postholders will join a team of consultants, provide in-patient services at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, and participate in on-call rota and clinical governance as part of service development.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration and license to practice.
• Eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of CS(E)R/CCT eligibility.
• Evidence of higher specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care in trauma and orthopaedics with a focus on Lower Limb Trauma and/or foot and ankle surgery.
• Perform elective and trauma operations and participate in outpatient clinics.
• Contribute to on-call rota and supervise junior medical staff.
• Engage in clinical governance activities and administrative duties of a consultant.
