Stella’s Place is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator to oversee daily kitchen operations and nutrition-focused programming for young adults in Toronto. You will work onsite with peers and staff to run cooking activities, menus, and food safety practices, while ensuring a welcoming, inclusive environment.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed, anti-oppressive practice and collaboration with donors and community partners.

Formación

• 2 years of experience as cook or kitchen coordinator.
• Food Handler Certification.
• Experience with menu planning and inventory management.
• Experience preparing food for groups.
• Experience working with vulnerable populations is an asset.
• Experience in mental health or non-profit environment is an asset.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate day-to-day kitchen operations to keep space clean, safe, welcoming and organized.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation and kitchen hygiene per Toronto Public Health and policies.
• Receive, sort, store and manage food from donors, stores and partners.
• Manage food inventory and minimize waste.
• Develop snack plans, menus and a seasonal calendar for programming.
• Coordinate shopping lists and food purchases for planned activities.
• Prepare and serve snacks and food for programs and events.
• Package food for participants and ensure proper labeling and storage.
• Arrange timely pick-up of donated food from partners.
• Identify opportunities to reduce waste and maximize donated resources.
