Job summary

CarePros is seeking a Child and Youth Care Worker for a Temporary Casual role based in Red Deer. You will work across Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts to connect with youth, build trust, and model healthy boundaries.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, safety, and ongoing collaboration with supervisors to support individualized plans and meaningful activities for youth in care.

Qualifications

• Patience and compassion for youth with complex needs.
• Ability to communicate clearly with youth, families, and staff.
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches and safety.
• Experience or exposure to youth care is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Build trust through playful engagement and mentorship.
• Guide youth through crisis using role modelling and support.
• Support youth with presence, engagement, and accountability.
• Create moments of joy through activities and life skills.
• Document daily activities and observations for plans.
• Collaborate with Supervisors to support therapeutic plans.
